“Empowerment Youth Leadership Academy (EYLA) provides compassionate, holistic support to families navigating the tragedy of stillbirth and empowers individuals with the skills and confidence to achieve economic independence through our comprehensive workforce development programs.”

From Pain To Purpose

Empowerment Youth Leadership Academy (EYLA) was founded from a place of profound love and unimaginable loss. EYLA Founder, an African American mother, experienced the heartbreaking tragedy of stillbirth. In the depths of her grief, she was faced with a devastating choice: fund a funeral for her child or allow the hospital to take her baby, place her in a box, and bury her in an unknown location.
This impossible decision ignited a fire within her. She chose to cremate her daughter Ja’Mya Samika Ellebb and vowed that no other mother should ever have to endure such a profound hardship alone or be forced to make such a choice. From this promise, EYLA, which also stands for Embrace Your Little Angel, was born.
EYLA  is built on the belief that every mother deserves to be supported with compassion, dignity, and understanding. We are here to help mothers navigate the overwhelming journey of grief and loss, providing financial assistance for cremation, emotional support through our death doulas, memorial engraved plaque, engraved necklace, and grief counseling, and a community that understands.
EYLA is more than just an organization; it is a testament to the enduring power of a mother’s love and a beacon of hope for families in their darkest moments. Our mission is to ensure that every little angel is embraced and that every mother is supported.
